The Ivory Coast-born defender made his second and final debut for Chelsea in October during a 2-1 loss to Manchester United. 

Chelsea loaned Guehi to Swansea City on January 10, 2020. Guehi made his debut for the Championship side on January 25 during a 2-0 loss to Stoke City. 

Swansea City fans criticized Guehi after the club went five games without winning while he was on the defence. Swansea City’s manager Steve Cooper defended him, saying that it’s not easy for young players to impress when first given an opportunity. 

Marc Guehi returned to Chelsea at the end of the 2019-20 season. However, the Blues loaned him back to Swansea City before the start of the 2020-21 season. 

Guehi impressed in his first three games of the new season as he helped the team keep clean sheets against Preston North End, Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers.
